Gas cylinders are a fundamental component of the gas industry: they are high-pressure containers used for the storage and transport of various gases. PWENT offers a complete range of steel high-pressure cylinders (manufactured by Rama Cylinders), as well as the corresponding valves, caps and accessories. Our products comply with ISO 9809-1 (seamless steel cylinders), ECER-110 (CNG cylinders), the 2014/68/EU PED and 2010/35/EU TPED directives.
The anatomy and composition of gas cylinders
Gas cylinders are typically cylindrical in shape, with a curved upper section (the „neck”). They are robust and durable structures designed for high pressure — they are usually made of steel (the most common), aluminium, or, less commonly, stainless steel or composite materials. The choice of material depends on the type of gas stored. Inside, the gas may exist in various states — compressed, liquid or dissolved.
Range of products available
CO₂ (carbon dioxide) cylinders, 3–67.5 litres (2–50 kg CO₂), test pressure 200/250 bar — for food, beverage, fire safety, medical and industrial applications. CNG cylinders 30–150 litres, 200 bar, ECER-110 approved — for vehicles and refuelling stations. H2 (hydrogen) cylinders for new energy applications. Valves in copper, chrome-plated and stainless steel finishes, RPV and split-disc types, for pressures of 200 and 300 bar. Accessories: DIN-S valve protection cap, flange, gas cylinder storage and transport box.
Safety and rules
The handling of cylinders is subject to strict regulations: they must be stored upright and kept away from heat sources, sparks and physical damage. Regular periodic inspections (hydrostatic pressure tests) are mandatory to ensure they remain fit for use. With proper maintenance, the service life of the cylinders is unlimited.
PWENT gas cylinders are the best choice for those looking for quality and compliance with standards.
