Inert extinguishing gas charge

Inert fire-extinguishing gases are mixtures of naturally occurring gases (nitrogen, argon, CO₂) used to extinguish fires by depriving them of oxygen — they are particularly suitable for protecting sensitive equipment (server rooms, museums, archives). Types of inert shielding gases
IG-541 (Inergen): a mixture of nitrogen (52%) + argon (40%) + CO₂ (8%). The most commonly used inert extinguishing agent. IG-100 (Nitrogen): a pure nitrogen extinguishing system — simpler logistics. IG-55 (Argonite): a mixture of nitrogen (50%) and argon (50%). All have zero ODP (ozone depletion potential) and GWP (global warming potential) values — completely environmentally friendly.

Maintenance and charging
The maintenance of inert fire-suppression gas systems requires specialised equipment: high-pressure cylinders (200–300 bar) are filled with the appropriate gas mixture and brought up to the specified pressure. PWENT’s transfer machines are suitable for recovering, filtering and refilling the old gas mixture. Ensuring the exact proportions of the mixtures is critical — specialised measuring instruments are required.
