Inert gas filling (Argon, Nitrogen)

The industrial-scale filling of inert gases (argon, nitrogen, oxygen and gas mixtures) is the basis for the welding, chemical, food and R&D industries. PWENT provides a complete range of inert gas filling systems, built around the IGFILL product family. The equipment complies with PED 2014/68/EU, TPED 2010/35/EU and ATEX 2014/34/EU. Note: this category covers the industrial, welding and gasworks focus. The fire protection inert extinguishing gases (IG-541, IG-100, IG-55) are listed under 400-035 (common physical URL).

IGFILL inert gas cylinder refilling system
The IGFILL is PWENT's flagship industrial inert filling system: a bottle filling bench that can fill 4-12 bottles at a time in continuous mode. With compressor unit (180-300 bar), pressure regulator, weighing system and safety valves. Automatic filling stop at the desired pressure or weight. PLC control for documentation of the complete process.

Characteristics and industrial use of inert gases
Argon (Ar): the most important shielding gas in welding (TIG, MIG), as well as for the inert atmosphere of filament lamps, lasers, industrial heat treatment furnaces. Special welding gas mixtures mixed with CO2 and oxygen. Nitrogen (N2): food protective atmosphere packaging, industrial refrigeration (liquid N2), pressure testing, tyre inflation. Oxygen (O2): for cutting, welding (oxy-acetylene autogenous welding), medical and industrial applications. Special purity O2 (99.999%) for electronics manufacturing.

Gas mixture filling
With special mixing units, PWENT IGFILL systems are also capable of filling precise gas mixtures (Ar+CO2, Ar+O2, welding mixtures). The mixing ratio is controlled by PLC, each cylinder receives the same quality gas mixture. This is critical for the welding industry where the gas mix ratio directly affects the welding result.
