Drying the gas cylinder is a critical step after the water pressure test: water remaining inside the cylinder can deteriorate the purity of the gas filled, cause metal rust and lead to corrosion of the valve. For special gases (oxygen, hydrogen, industrial mix gases) it is particularly important that the inside of the cylinder is completely dry before filling. PWENT offers a complete range of drying equipment for fast, efficient and complete dehumidification after pressure testing.

Why drying the gas cylinder is important
Leftover water causes three main problems. First, it reduces the purity of the stored gas - especially for critical medical, food and process gases. Secondly, it leads to rusting in the inner walls of the cylinder, which in the long term weakens the structure and reduces the lifetime. Thirdly, it corrodes the internal parts of the valve, which can lead to leaks or blockages.

DRY series - products
The PWENT DRY series of dryers is specifically designed for small and medium-sized gas cylinders. The hot air drying principle is fast and energy efficient - completely removing any residual water from the inside of the cylinder. Simultaneous drying of several cylinders is possible, making it a perfect fit for the workshop workflow. The FIT 6-EVO and FIT 6-DUO EVO automatic water pressure test benches are optionally available with an integrated drying function, which combines the filling-pressure-emptying-drying process into a single cycle via a single connection.

Industrial applications
Gas cylinder refurbishment workshops: a mandatory step after every water pressure test. Gas factory environments: ensure cleanliness before filling. Fire extinguisher maintenance: especially for CO2 and inert extinguishing gas cylinders, complete dryness is important. Specialist gas cylinders: oxygen, H2, pharmaceutical mix gas cleanliness-sensitive applications.

Our staff will help you choose the right dryer based on the type of slate and workshop capacity.
