More and more frequently, the following question is being asked regarding our on-site fire extinguisher maintenance solution.
This is why I would write about the dimensions. For an on-site solution, we recommend our SKID workshop. I would also share a few important considerations for its placement.
Module 1200 mm wide, 1250 mm deep is 1452 mm in height. It can be comfortably fitted into a larger van.
Special solution – on-site fire extinguisher maintenance
We have projects where customers request the SKID to be installed in a confined space, such as a panel van. A typical vehicle in this size category is the FIAT SCUDO. In such cases, the module unfortunately always requires custom modification.
This can then be useful if you want to access underground car parks or buildings where the ceiling height is limited.
Disadvantages of the solution:
- a bespoke solution, which is always more expensive
- limited space for other parts and accessories
- Only a small CO2 bottle fits in the car.
You can see some example images of this solution in the slider on the right. We only recommend this design if you have contracted to maintain a very large quantity of irrigation devices for a particular customer and cannot access the area otherwise.
Standard solution – on-site fire extinguisher maintenance
The standard solution has enough space for everything:
- SKID unit
- CO2 gas cylinder. A standard 50-litre cylinder, with a 37.5 kg CO2 filling, is 1650-1700 mm high including the valve.
- vaccine powders
- Other accessories for maintenance
It is suitable for all cases where there is no space shortage and at least a medium-sized van can be purchased. The work is much more comfortable.
Good examples of these lorries are: FIAT DUCATO, MERCEDES SPRINTER, CITROËN JUMPER, FORD TRANSIT.
