First, the valve is unscrewed using a specialised valve-removal machine \u2014 the safe management of residual pressure is critical at this stage. This is followed by internal and external cleaning (using wire brushes and shot blasting). A hydrostatic test is carried out at pressures ranging from 30 to 500 bar to check the structural integrity of the cylinder \u2014 if the test fails, the rejection machine scraps the cylinder (even for 34CrMo4 steel). This is followed by drying, painting and re-labelling.
